Qawāmīs. Lexica Indexes Concordances

The series QAWĀMĪS was established as a venue for the publication of lexicographical and philological tools related to the Arabic language and themlexicographical traditions of the Islamicate world. Within this framework, it hosts dictionaries, repertories, concordances, and indexes that document linguistic practices and their interrelation with grammar, exegesis, and the written culture of Islam. Over time, the scope of the series has expanded to include the documentation and publication of texts in other languages, with particular attention to those that have maintained privileged contacts with Arabic—such as Persian, Turkish, Hebrew, Latin, and Greek—while not excluding other linguistic and lexicographical traditions. Its aim is to offer a comparative and dynamic panorama of lexicographical cultures, while at the same time highlighting both the continuity of philological research and the new methodological perspectives opened up by the digital humanities.
